When we started working with A.T. Cross they were sitting on one of the most extraordinary brand stories in American consumer goods. A 178-year-old heritage brand, the official Pen of Presidents, with generations of craftsmanship and milestone-gifting equity behind every product. The problem was that none of that story was making it into the advertising. They were spending around $7K a week, with Google branded search doing about 60% of revenue and Meta running at just 20-25% of budget showing product shots and discount codes.
The brand was being sold like a commodity. Pens in frames with prices and promo codes, no heritage, no emotional gifting territory, no presidential history. Google branded search was carrying the account because demand was already there, but Meta was underweight and not creating any new demand. There was no creative system, no persona segmentation and no way to scale beyond a single US market.
We rebuilt the creative engine from the ground up around storytelling, legacy and emotional gifting. The team began shipping a high volume of new creative every week across distinct persona segments: self-purchase professionals wanting desk gravitas, milestone gifters for graduation, retirement and Father's Day, collectors drawn to heritage and craftsmanship, and corporate buyers needing engraving and bulk. We introduced ASMR product video, UGC unboxing, founder-led storytelling and presidential-history vignettes, then layered cost cap campaigns and persona-led ABO structures to scale spend without breaking efficiency.
From there, the trajectory accelerated fast. Weekly ad spend climbed from $7K to over $42K, a 6x scale, while we beat their 3.5x ROAS target with a peak of 3.94x ROAS at $32 CPAs and $91K weekly spend. By year-end the brand finished with 253% YoY online revenue growth and Meta had moved from a supporting role to a true demand-generation channel.
